St. Patrick's Athletic stunned champions Bohemians with a vintage performance to earn a 3-1 win at Richmond Park.
It was the first time in six visits to Inchicore Bohs have been defeated. More importantly for Pat Fenlon's men, however, is that the result sees their lead at the top of the table reduced to just one point.
With Cork City having drawn and Derry City having won, the Gypsies lead at the top of the table is now reduced.
The Saints came at their visitors from the start but it took until the 55th minute for them to get on the scoresheet, Ryan Guy netting a neat finish.
Saints fans were sensing a shock on the cards and their lead was doubled on 68 minutes when centre half Jason Gavin snuck up in the box to make it 2-0.
Bohs were stunned and worse was to follow on 76 minutes when John Lester scored a beautiful long range effort to give the home side a 3-0 lead.
Although Owen Heary managed to pull one back at the death for the champions, it was too little too late for the Gypsies.
