Before a winter break, Valenciennes was one step in the second league. But they made excellent record with 13 games without a defeat! Usually, they win at home and play 0-0 on the road. It resulted with a five points surplus than the dangerous zone. But, in the last three games just one point ( Sochaux, away 1-1), with two 0-2 defeats (Nancy and Le Mans). They have a tough schedule, will face (beside Lyon) PSG, Bordeaux, St Etienne and Monaco (who only will not be motivated). Injury problems. Beside long time injured Lacourt and Belmadi, boss Kombouare can not count on three important players: Abardonad, Saez and Tiene.

What can be said about Lyon's recent performances? Now, it is not only about the title. They're in danger to loose a Champions League spot. Six points less than the leaders Olympique Marseille, four less than Bordeaux, and one point more than PSG. It is the fact, something doesn't work. Great players, but very bad shape. Three rounds without a win. Will travel to Velodrome to face Marseille and try to restore a title hope. But, before that, they have to win Valenciennes and Nantes at home in the next round. No injury worries for boss Puel.

I expect the trouble will shake and join Lyon's lads, especially those from whom fans and management expect the most (I mean Juninho and Benzema). Valenciennes needs one more win for peaceful finish, but without some keys, I doubt they'll resist today. Expekt, 888sport and the most of others offer acceptable 1.80. Away win.
